Synthesis, characterization, and 3D extrusion-based bioprinting of Gelatin Methacrylate (GelMA) bioinks for muscular tissue regeneration (Institute of Nanotechnology, CNR, Lecce)

I attended my master thesis internship at Institute of Nanotechnology, CNR in Lecce. During this period, I worked on biomaterials and bioprintig. I synthesized Gelatin Methacrylate(GelMA)-based hydrogel, I studied its chimical-physical and mechanical properties, and I used it as bioink for an extrusion-based 3D bioprinter. I applied it to cell culture studies, in order to create a 3D environment that mimics the phisyological one. I learned how to develop a bioink, how to perform a cell encapsulation in hydrogel, a live/dead assay, a morphological test, and how to set up and use a 3D bioprinter.
